In the short time Into Wishin’ has been together as a quartet, they have developed a fun and entertaining approach to performing both barbershop and other musical favorites. Kathie (Lead), Lin (Bass), Laurie (Baritone) and Isie (Tenor) are Into Wishin’ that they can continue to share their love of singing and look forward to bringing joy to their audiences!

Kathie has been involved with music for many years, but truly found her musical passion when she discovered SAI and acapella four-part harmony 13 years ago.  Having sung the lead part with several quartets (including one top ten Regional Quartet), Kathie has found that there is great satisfaction and lots of hard work involved in making those chords ring!  When not enjoying this wonderful hobby, Kathie is Chief Operating Officer for Prudential Manor Homes and shares her home with her husband John.

Lin has been a member of SAI for 9 years now and has discovered that she has "only scratched the surface" of quartetting. She is a member of the Board of Directors, was its Corresponding Secretary for several years and is currently itsTreasurer. She and her husband Jim enjoy hiking, kayaking and reading (he — history/political, she — romance and forensic mysteries, hmmmm). Their sons are "out of the nest" but still a big part of their lives. Lin recently retired from her work as a research scientist for NYSDOH and is happy to now have more time to travel, hike and, of course, to learn and rehearse yet more songs for this quartet's great 4-part acappella harmony.

Laurie has been a member of Sweet Adeline's for 9 years, and has recently switched from the lead part to baritone.  (Is she nuts?)  She is a "newbie" to quarteting and is just loving singing with these wonderful women.  Laurie is a family nurse practitioner who just sees pediatrics and works in Cobleskill for BAssett Healthcare.  She and her husband Mark love the outdoors, and music of all kinds.

Isabel (commonly known as Isie) has been a Sweet Adeline for more than 20 years, singing tenor.  She has sung in several quartets, most recently singing with Kathie in “Ain’t That a KICC!,” a top-ten regional quartet. Isie is enjoying her retirement from teaching and education, and one of her biggest pleasures comes from traveling. She and her barbershopper husband Mike try to attend as many Barbershop conventions and shows as they can.

Meet the Chorus

Come to the About Us section to meet the director, and find out what we're all about!

April Sweet Adeline of the Month:  Linda Hayes

Linda wasted no time getting back into the swing of chorus life and took on several responsibilities with jewelry and costuming that really put us "in the pink" at regional contest this year! Searching online for just the right chorus shirts and earrings, as well as organizing and coordinating the sizing, ordering, and distribution of these items, Linda was a major factor in getting it all done in time for contest. Here's to a job well done Linda!

March Sweet Adeline of the Month:  Michaela Phillips

Besides being a great tenor, Michaela has been serving as a liaison between Marianne our Director, and the rest of the chorus, taking care of details that can easily fall through the cracks. She sends reminders, keeps track of coaching notes as well as musical changes; she is our collective memory! Thanks for your good work Michaela!

Capitaland Chorus 2013 Sweet Adeline of the Year:  Dodie Gearing

In addition to being bass section leader and music library coordinator, Dodie devotes much of her time to making Capitaland Chorus the best it can be! She is there to open and set up the rehearsal hall when needed, participates in sing outs as a solid bass singer, and in general is there to help wherever it is needed. Dodie is a most worthy recipient of this honor for this year, and the chorus extends its gratitude to her for all she does!
